Jogger XLT – Review of the Safetech Triple Jogging Stroller XLT
Safetech Triple Jogging Stroller XLT – Yes, Newer IS Better
Fitness minded individuals have long loved jogging strollers, and for those with 3 kids, triple jogging strollers are a lifesaver. With the tough economy, many buyers were holding off on investing in one – lucky them! 2010 brings great new improvements and upgrades for the XLT model that parents will love, including better tires, nicer harnesses, and much improved quality.
If you’re new to buying jogging strollers, know that the quality of the tires are directly related to your childrens’ comfort. The new 2010 Safetech XLT features a re-enforced aluminum axle which is much stronger than the 2009 models, improving ride quality and safety. Also unique to the 2010 XLT models are the new sealed swiss bearings for a smooth ride. These features make the Safetech XLT one of the most comfortable jogging strollers around.
Like many of it’s higher priced competitors, the 2010 Safetech XLT has quick-locking front wheels; you can lock them in a straight configuration, able to rotate 40′, or able to rotate 360′. If you plan to jog long distances, the ability to lock the front wheels is a must. However, because of the swivel lock, a hand brake is not possible. Thus, this particular model uses a locking foot brake on the rear wheels instead. To prevent your children from flying out of the stroller at the first sign of braking, they are kept snug by a luxurious imported 5 point safety harness. As if that wasn’t enough safety features, the entire stroller is flame retardant, just in case.
The Safetech XLT comes with all the standard features you would expect from much more expensive strollers. The canopy is adjustable with a peek-in window so you can check up on the kids quickly. Underneath is a basket large enough to hold a 4th child, but that’s not recommended, even though the lightweight aluminum frame is built to support up to 190 pounds. For the comfort of the passengers, there is also a front arm bar and foot rest.
Retailing at around $500, the Safetech XLT beats out many of it’s competitors at this price level. This triple jogging stroller has fantastic ride quality, plenty of safety features, and is quite affordable – the perfect trifecta. If you’re in the market for a new jogging stroller and don’t want to break the bank, be sure to give the Safetech XLT a look.
