Buying a Triple Jogging Stroller – Why Price Isn’t Everything

With many triple jogging strollers approaching the four digit mark, shoppers often go screaming the other way for the cheapest jogging strollers they can get.  Not the wisest move, considering what you’re transporting.  These vastly inferior strollers are your childs’ worst nightmare – poor ride quality, terrible build quality, and destined to leave a terrible taste in your mouth.  When buying a triple jogging stroller, look at everything, not just price.

The quality of the stroller is very important.  At the very least, look for a stroller with a minimum 14″ air filled tires.  The quality should be sturdy enough to support at least 150 pounds, and you should feel safe putting your children in it.  Look for a stroller with a locking front wheel, as well as brakes and a handle bar, so they don’t come flying out when you brake.  A nice 5 point harness will also help.

Shipping is also something you’ll definitely have to consider.  These triple jogging strollers are no joke, most weighing in at a minimum of 40 pounds.  You don’t want to go too light with these strollers since you want something strong and safe for your loved ones.  The cost of shipping is quite variable, and depends on the weight of the stroller, the distance the seller is from you, the speed of shipping, company, and any handling charges that your seller may cause.  This might sound like a lot, because it is – shipping usually runs between $50-100 for most triple models. 

You can escape shipping charges by finding a seller that offers free shipping.  These sellers are specifically targeting customers like you who don’t want to get nickel and dimed on shipping.  By moving tons of volume and getting professional discounts from the shipping companies, they are able to offer free shipping, thus saving you a ton.  Of course, this usually means that the cost of the stroller will be higher.  But don’t be fooled – remember to add shipping cost to the cost of the item itself to determine the true cost of the stroller. 

Finally, not all sellers are created equal.  Unfortunately, best price and best service are usually mutually exclusive.  However, you can still get a great price while receiving great service.  Find out as much info as you can about the seller: their return policy (if any), all shipping and handling costs, external checkout sites, etc.  Definitely check the seller’s feedback – look at how the seller fares at such important things as speed of shipping, shipping costs, accuracy of description, and quality of the item.  Weed out all the bad apples – there’s plenty of competition out there.
